Furthermore, June is the perfect time to experience the wildlife in full swing.
Here are the ten must-visit places in Tanzania during June:
Lake Manyara National Park
Although this is probably one of the smaller wildlife parks in Tanzania, it offers incredible views and scenery. The park offers a unique sightseeing and wildlife expedition with the famous acacia forest, mahogany trees, figs, blue monkeys, and baboons. Catch a glimpse of impalas, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and hippos.
You can also spot the famous tree-climbing lions here!
Serengeti National Park
This park is known for its size and also the starting point of the Great Wildebeests Migration. In June, you can witness the herds preparing for migration. You can catch a glimpse of the Big 5, along with many other wildlife species.
It’s also a great place for birdwatching, with over 500 species of birds!
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Ngorongoro is a remarkable place to visit and an opportunity to witness the “Big Five.”
These include elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, and African buffalos. The Ngorongoro Crater in the Conservation Area is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, and it’s home to a beautiful wildlife ecosystem.
Nyerere National Park
One of the world’s largest game reserves, The Nyerere National Park is a must-visit park in June, an ideal month to witness the many wildlife species that inhabit this park. Many people have recommended a walking safari here.
Ruaha National Park
Ruaha National Park is another excellent June destination to capture exotic wildlife. The temperatures are ideal during June (slightly warm during the day and chilly during the night). You will witness a range of natural colours as the trees are losing their leaves and the grass is yellowing. It is a truly magnificent spectacle of Autumn colours.
Tarangire National Park
Visit Tarangire National Park near the end of the month. A diverse range of wildlife will be gathered around the Tarangire River.
June is ideal month for going on a trekking expedition on Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. The best season to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is mid-June to October and December to mid-March. Mid-June is ideal because it becomes highly crowded near the end of June.
Zanzibar is the perfect place to escape the wildlife and unwind after safari expeditions. Zanzibar Island has terrific beaches and coastal marine life with many water sports activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, and kitesurfing.
Juani Island is located off Chloe Bay in Zanzibar. Juani Island is a great place to watch thousands of baby turtles running towards the sea. It is a unique sight, and this spectacle usually starts in June and ends in September. If you are already in Zanzibar, this is one of the must-visit spots during June.
Stone Town is another excellent destination in June if you want to experience the history and culture of Zanzibar. The temperature is ideal for walking around Stone Town and immersing yourself in the unique culture, variety of street food, delicious Swahili cuisine and beautiful ancient architecture.
