  • 4. Most people think that staying in a lodge during a safari can be very costly. This is a myth because Tanzania caters to all budgets. You can also mix and match, you can stay in tents at the start of your safari and when the safari is about to end you can stay at luxury tented camps, some of them with pools too.
  • 5. There are many airports in Tanzania, so you need not fly to Dar es Salaam and fly from there to other parts, if possible you can possibly fly directly to airports such as Arusha which is near Mount Kilimanjaro.
  • 6. There are many islands in Tanzania and they have wonderful white sand beaches. The Indian Ocean on this side is famous for scuba diving and snorkelling. The main islands that people visit are Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia. These islands and others are great to rest and rewind and you can also learn about the local culture here.
  • 7. Get your vaccinations. There are many illnesses that you can get here as it is a tropical climate. So find out what all vaccinations are necessary and get them. You will surely not regret them, you will be thankful for getting them.
  • 8. Some off the beaten track parks are there where you can enjoy watching animals in their habitat. If you love to watch chimpanzees you should go to Mahale Mountains or you can go to Rubondo Island for a different type of adventure etc.
  • 9. The ideal time for a safari would be three nights minimum. If you can spend more time and money you can do that too but the minimum should be seven day. Lesser than seven days you will not be able to view all the wildlife and you will not be able to take part in all the activities on offer.
