8 Days Travel Plan to Tanzania

Tanzania is a unique destination for your next holiday. The country has so much to offer whether you are traveling solo, on your honeymoon, with friends, or travel group; from historical and cultural landmarks to exotic wildlife safaris, from bustling city streets to serene beaches.

This article outlines an exciting eight-day travel plan where you can immerse yourself in a journey of a lifetime, learning about culture, exploring new territories, experiencing life-changing events, and discovering more about yourself. After all, it is through these immersive experiences that we evolve and grow.

Day 1

On your first day, you will land at Arusha International Airport. Arusha is a beautiful and peaceful town and is the perfect place to start your journey because it connects many well-known safaris and tourist spots. Located in the Great Rift Valley at the base of Mount Meru, Arusha is a unique town. Arrive at your hotel, freshen up, drop your luggage, and explore the town. Arusha has several historical landmarks and other exciting tourist spots that you may want to visit.

Day 2 & Day 3

After getting a good night’s sleep, you will embark on your first safari adventure. Given the size, significance, and beauty of the Serengeti, it is recommended to spend the night. You can book many day-trip safaris to the Serengeti. The Serengeti National Park is well-known because of the Great Migration of wildebeests. Spend the afternoon exploring the park and viewing the exotic wildlife species in their natural habitats.

On Day 3, wake up early to witness the wildlife in the morning. You can observe ostriches, hippos, lions, and giraffes.

Day 4 & Day 5

You will disembark from the Serengeti National Park on the morning of Day 4 and head over to The Ngorongoro Crater. At Ngorongoro, you will experience breath-taking, scenic landscapes. The inactive volcanic crater is among the largest national parks. You can also find the Big 5, which is an opportunity of a lifetime. The Big 5 include rhinos, elephants, leopards, lions, and the African buffalos. Apart from the Big 5, you will find many exotic wildlife species and birds. After this exhilarating experience, spend the night at the reserve to have an opportunity to go on an early game drive on Day 5. Once the drive is over, it will be time to head back to Arusha, where you can relax and re-energize yourself after the safari. You can also choose to spend the night strolling Arusha.

Day 6 & Day 7

On the morning of Day 6, you will take a flight to Zanzibar to unwind, relax, and enjoy the serene beaches. Apart from the beaches, Zanzibar can provide you with many experiences. Spend Day 6 and Day 7 exploring Zanzibar. Some things that you may want to check out include:

  1. Stone Town
  2. Sunbathing on the beach
  3. Snorkeling/Kayaking/Diving
  4. Kendwa
  5. Jozani Forest Reserve
