A safari in Tanzania is an exciting and adventurous experience, where you will encounter a diverse range of landscapes (for example, mountains, plains, hills, towering trees) and wildlife (for example, the Big Five, wildebeests, exotic birds). It is a thrilling and action-packed trip that can be very rewarding, especially for wildlife photographers.
However, going on a safari requires careful planning and resources. If you forget something, you will regret it, and it may take some of the fun out of the safari. Camera
Whether you choose an SLR or a DSLR comes down to personal preference; however, keep in mind that you will need to keep the necessary equipment according to your camera. For SLRs, it is recommended to purchase sufficient films to cover your entire journey because there are minimal options available for purchasing film in Tanzania. Furthermore, the film is also quite expensive. If you prefer DSLR, keep spare memory cards with you to ensure you don’t have to fret over storage issues. You may also need to carry an external hard drive where you can transfer your photos.
Lens
Carrying the right lens is critical to ensure that you can take high-quality and detailed photos without getting too close to the wildlife. According to recommendations by professional photographers, you should at least carry a long zoom, a medium zoom, and a wide-angle zoom to capture detailed pictures of wildlife in their natural habitats. Furthermore, it is also recommended to have two cameras to avoid switching lenses on the go.
Case/Bags
