Why Travel to Tanzania is a Perfect Post Lockdown Holiday Destination

Tanzania is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Now that travel restrictions have been lifted or reduced, travel lovers can once again visit mesmerising destinations such as Tanzania.

After months of lockdown, one should plan a trip to a place that offers it all: adventure, fun, serenity, knowledge, and beauty. Tanzania is home to diverse flora and fauna, stunning beaches, friendly locals, rich heritage and culture, mouth watering cuisines and spices, and the best safaris in the world.

Lockdown has been very boring for many of us, so we crave excitement and fun. In Tanzania, tourists can enjoy adventures such as trekking or hiking at Mount Kilimanjaro, camping at Ngorongoro Crater, quad bike rides at Arusha, and hot air balloon rides at the Serengeti. At beaches like Nungwi, and Ras Katani, visitors can enjoy exciting activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, kiteboarding, and parasailing!

After being confined to our homes, it is a good idea to go out and explore nature. Tourists can visit the unique reserves and national parks for an extraordinary safari experience. Ruaha National Park and Selous Game Reserve are home to lions, buffaloes, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, wild dogs, kudus, and antelopes. At the beautiful Tarangire National Park, one can spot elephants, honey badgers, gazelles, mongooses, baboons, lions, leopards, vervet monkeys, and wild dogs! To find chimpanzees, travellers can visit Mahale Mountains National Park. Lake Manyara is excellent for bird watching as it is home to flamingos, herons, egrets, and pelicans!

For many people, lockdown meant that they could not dine out or taste new flavours. Tanzania has one of the most diverse cuisines in the world as it has influences of Arabic, Portugese, Indian, and Turkish food. As the country is next to the ocean, fresh seafood is popular and delicious. One can have prawns, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and lobster! Some of the most famous dishes are Uji (porridge), nyama choma (grilled meat), pulao or biryani, mishkaki (marinated beef), ndizi-nyama (plantains with meat), Ugali, Kuku Paka (spicy curry), samosa (fried filled triangles), kebabs, Muhogo (deep fried cassava), and Mandazi (doughnuts)! Foods contain spices like nutmeg, lemongrass, cardamom, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, garlic, ginger, and cloves, which can be observed at spice farms!

Another reason why Tanzania is the ideal post-lockdown destination, is that visitors can enjoy a holiday, as well as seclusion and privacy. Even after the restrictions have been removed, staying away from crowds is important, and at serene and peaceful locations in Tanzania, travellers can enjoy the perfect vacation. Mbudya Island is gorgeous, with clear blue water, white sands, and swaying palm trees. Pristine locations like Fanjove Island beach, Sinda Island, and Vumawimbi Beach at Pemba Island offer stunning views and a chance to escape the crowds. The botanical gardens at Dar Es Salam also offer tranquility among lush vegetation.

Tanzania is the perfect post lockdown destination because it offers all the aspects one seeks in a vacation, especially serenity and privacy post-lockdown, a chance to reconnect with nature, and delicious food!
