Dodoma is the capital of Tanzania. Most people think that Dar es Salaam is the capital but they are wrong, Dar es Salaam is the biggest city in Tanzania and was the capital of Tanzania. In 1973 the government decided to make Dodoma the capital. Construction of government buildings started but officially the city became the capital in 1996. Some government offices remain in Dar es Salaam even today.
