Route: Arusha to Zanzibar

Not to Miss During Flights
On take-off from Arusha, Mount Meru first, and then Mount Kilimanjaro are usually visible from the left-hand side of the aircraft as it makes it’s turn to the south east. After seeing the East Usambara mountains to the left, you’ll cross the coastline overhead Saadani National Park – the only NP with the ocean as a boundary – and Pemba Island, the second biggest in the Zanzibar archipelago off to the left. On the descent into Zanzibar, notice the crystal clear waters with traditional dhows still plying their trade.

All flights to Zanzibar are handled by Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, also known as Zanzibar International Airport. The airport is the major airport of Zanzibar Archipelago and it’s located about 7 Km south of the city centre on Unguja Island. The airport has two terminals domestic and international. You’ll find a range of transport options at the arrivals area for transfer to the city center or your hotel. You can take a taxi or pre-book your airport transfer with your hotel for pickup when you arrive.
